Steve Jobs – Inspirational Speech “If today were the last day of my life”
Steve Jobs – Inspirational Speech
Steve Jobs delivered an inspirational speech at Stanford University’s 2005 commencement ceremony, in which he shared his personal philosophy and experiences with the graduating class. In this speech, he spoke about the importance of pursuing one’s passions, taking risks, and living life to the fullest.
One of the most memorable parts of the speech was when Jobs said, “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” He urged the audience to ask themselves this question every day, and to have the courage to follow their hearts and intuition.
He also shared personal stories from his own life, including his early years at Apple, his battle with pancreatic cancer, and his eventual return to the company after being fired. He spoke about the importance of persevering through difficult times, and the value of failure in the pursuit of success.
Jobs concluded the speech by saying, “Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
The speech has since become a source of inspiration for many people, and is often cited as an example of Jobs’ wisdom and leadership.
